Scholarships for 2012-13 for New Students

$2000 scholarships available to 25 new students to attend The Charles Finney School!

The Charles Finney School is pleased to announce that thanks to the donation of $50,000 from a generous donor, Finney will be able to offer scholarships for 25 new students to attend Finney for the the 2012-13 school year.  Scholarships will be awarded in amounts of $2000 per new student who applies and is accepted to the school and completes a financial aid application. Financial Aid

Financial Aid is limited in terms of quantity and availability. Forms for requesting financial aid are available in the application and re-enrollment packets. A copy of your most recent Federal income tax return must accompany the application.  Financial Aid decisions are based upon the Financial Aid Committee recommendations. Letters will be mailed to new families at the time of acceptance and to current families before the end of May. Financial aid awards are given to new families on an ongoing basis as funds are available. Returning families should apply by April 6th to assure that they will be considered for financial aid for the 2012-2013 school year.  There are academic and behavioral standards that must be maintained by all financial aid and scholarship recipients. Academic/ Merit-Based Scholarships

Freshman Entrance Exam Scholarships
Finney offers three merit-based scholarships for freshmen based on the results of our Freshman Entrance Exam.  The exam is required of all incoming freshmen, whether current or potential students.  For potential students, only those taking the exam on either the December 10, 2011 or March 29, 2012 dates can qualify for an Freshman Entrance Exam scholarship and should contact the Admissions Department to register.  There is no cost for the exam.  Entrance Exam scholarships are applied for all four years of high school.  Students must maintain academic and behavioral requirements for all four school years.

Need-Based Scholarships
Finney does offer a small amount of need-based scholarships.  To be considered for a need-based scholarships, families must complete a financial aid application and speak with the Admissions Office.  Need-based scholarships also have academic and behavioral guidelines.

Financial Aid/Scholarship Confidentiality Clause
Decisions regarding financial aid awards and scholarship monies are made by the Financial Aid Committee, and are held in the strictest confidence to protect your privacy. The Charles Finney School expects that financial aid and need-based scholarship recipients, and their families, will honor this confidentiality; a student may forfeit his or her award if confidentiality is breached.
