Elementary School

Art

One of Finney’s strengths is its award winning visual arts program. Elementary students receive a broad and intensive exposure to the creative visual arts.  They learn about the Great Masters of Art, historical periods of art and the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. They also learn to use a wide range of mediums and methods to express themselves both two and three dimensionally. 

Drama

Elementary students participate in their own musical theatrical production annually. 

Music

Kindergarten through 3rd grade students discover music through joyful and developmentally appropriate activities involving singing, listening, movement and instruments.  Their classes are taught by a licensed Kindermusik instructor.

Grades 4 and 5 take general music courses that offer creative methods of learning music regardless of how one may learn

In addition to their general music classes, 4th and 5th grade students have the opportunity to take band lessons.

The Music Department puts on two major concerts annually.  Students have the opportunity to perform vocally with their music class well as in the Elementary Band

Spiritual Development

Biblical instruction is integrated through the curriculum in all levels.  In addition to Elementary School chapel, K-2 and grades 3-5 students participate in devotions together.
