For the past 30 years, my teaching experience has encompassed a wide range of subjects and venues. As a paramedic for 21 years, I served as a Field Training Officer for most of that time. During that time, I was enlisted by the NYS Department of Health as Regional Faculty specifically to teach a variety of emergency medical topics and courses including an 18-hour Critical Trauma Care Course (one subtopic was Kinematics: trauma patterns as energy passes through a body). Frequently I was recruited to participate in leadership functions for a number of large-scale events. As Adjunct Faculty for M.C.C., I taught at Monroe County's Public Safety Training Center and at many sites off-campus. Current certifications now include CERT (Homeland Security's Community Emergency Response Team); CIAQ (Certified Indoor Air Quality) Specialist; and most recently Commercial Certification for CIAQ for large structures (schools, malls, hospitals, etc.) Since 1988, I have regularly attended First Bible Baptist Church and serve in a number of ministries (First Aid, Home Bible Study teacher, Children's Ministries) and try to squeeze in Bible Institute (when my schedule allows). My credentials include a B.S in Biology from SUNY Brockport and only have to complete my thesis for an M.S. Ed also at SUNY Brockport. During the past 2 years as a volunteer Reproductive Health Educator for Compass Care, I taught STD Education and Pregnancy modules as part of their "Erase the Need for Abortion" Abstinence Program. I held teaching certificates for nearly all secondary sciences. From 1995 - 2000, I found a home at Northstar Christian Academy teaching Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Science. Typically when asked how I have done so much, I usually respond with "I'm just old." God bless you THIS day.
