Mr. Wesley Nance

Originally a native of sunny southern California, I moved to Rochester, NY in 1986 partly to attend the Eastman School of Music, and partly for the dramatic change of seasons. I hold bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Eastman School of Music in trumpet, and I'm an instructor for the Eastman Community Music School. As a member of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra trumpet section, I just completed my 20th season with the RPO, and have been a featured soloist with the orchestra on several occasions. The RPO brass section premiered my piece “Two Beats!” on the RPO WPops concert series on Oct 17 and 18, 2003, and has programmed it on several concerts since. I am married to RPO violinist Shannon Nance, and together we are bringing up a quartet of musical children, ages 3, 5, 8 and 11. At least life is not boring!
