Falcons Defend State Championship Title

Winning a state championship is one thing but what’s even more impressive is being the first boy’s basketball team to capture back-to-back titles in 23 years. But that is exactly what our Finney Falcon’s did as they defended their Class D state title with a big win over the Chateaugay Bulldogs 46-27 in Glen’s Falls on March 17.

Finney pride and school spirit soared the following Monday and the celebration continued throughout the morning. R News even showed up to do a feature story that included the school’s critical need for a new gym floor.

We want to congratulate and acknowledge every member of the team, especially Coach Marchand who continues to put his heart and soul into his work. Point guard Andy Marchand was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player and the school was also the recipient of the 2007 Private Parochial Sportsmanship of the Year Award.
